These fields are very close to my childhood home. The trees in teh background are part of Gallows Green Wood - I've yet to learn the reason behind the name. It's sounds grim but the woods themselseves are wonderful.
 
Essex is too easily dismissed when talking about England's beautiful places. For me it will always hold some magic. I'm not alone; Holst, Ravillious and the Bardfield School also found inspiration here.
